At Creature, our Netflix queue is intellectual. We stack our bench with challenging black and white Hungarian political documentaries and condescending arty claptrap. The problem is that they show up in our mailboxes at the very moment we’ve been day-dreaming of streaming Big Mama’s House or Cowboys and Aliens. Fate can’t be denied.
Our solution is called Original Sinema: a twice-monthly film night where we suffer as a group through some cinematic fine art. There’s something about pizza, beer and clever company (welcome to hiss at the lemons) that make our aspirational list pretty tolerable. And it turns out that, much of the time, we’re challenged and changed just for making the effort.
After 10 of these we felt like it was time to showcase the posters that are sometimes better than the films.
