Mobile Expressionism
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 10:29AM There was Cubism. Graphic novels. Impressionism. Grunge Rock. Minimilism. Film Noir. Bauhaus. Pop Art. And now—Mobile Expressionism. Developers are individuals who create applications that become a part of, affect and change culture. Apps are the new art, making developers modern day artists.
We brought this idea to life with a digital campaign that introduced developers and the wider audience of tech elite to the idea of Mobile Expressionism. We created a series of videos profiling several HP webOS developers as artists, and created an art exhibit complete with a catalog of silk-screened posters inspired by apps on the webOS platform.
The posters depict Angry Birds, Absolute Fitness, Flight Tracker, Evernote, Flickr Mundo, How to Train Your Dragon, The New York Times, Pandora and Taxi Magic.
