If anyone caught Jeopardy on Tuesday night, Seattle's Best Coffee was one of the clues. Considering that Alex Trebek is an American (although actually Canadian) icon and a stone cold silver fox, we think this is pretty damn cool. The man has been hosting the show since 1984. 1984! That's 27 years of nightly entertainment. Bad. Ass.
Last Thursday was big day for Seattle's Best Coffee and Creature. Not only did the redesigned website go live, but it also marked the launch of the Brew-lanthropy project. Every day, volunteers across the US do remarkably good work while drinking really bad coffee—and the new initiative is kicked off to address this problem. Seattle’s Best will award nonprofit organizations with a break room makeover, free coffee for a year, $5,000 to continue to brew more good and a chance to tell their story.
The Brew-lanthropy Project was launched by awarding a coffee makeover to the staff and volunteers at Blackstone Bicycle Works, a nonprofit organization on the south side of Chicago. Blackstone is a beacon of hope for hundreds of neighborhood kids. The shop teaches life lessons through bike mechanics and healthy living through fun.
To find the next deserving organization, we're asking the Facebook community to become Brew-lanthropists. Anyone can nominate a nonprofit in need of a coffee break makeover by submitting a 250 word essay about the organization at the Seattle’s Best Coffee Facebook Page (entries will be accepted from March 31 to April 29).

The central idea, “Anywhere Great Coffee is Needed," is a simple and clear statement about democratizing premium coffee. As a first step for the brand, it helps our audience understand that even though the brand shows up in what might not be considered traditional premium coffee locations, it's there for a reason: to improve the coffee there.
The campaign sets out to bring this simple idea to life with an integrated campaign mixing film, print, outdoor, and a strong social media component.
The new packaging for Seattle's Best Coffee hit the shelves in December, just in time to kick off 2011. A new year, a new way to enjoy great coffee! Quite literally, the Level system makes finding the right coffee as easy as 1-2-3-4-5. It starts with Level 1, the lightest and mildest, and works its way up to Level 5, the boldest and most intense.
The Level system features an innovative and bold new packaging concept. Its unique array of numbers and vivid colors tell consumers exactly what they want to know: which type of coffee fits their taste profile. So, what's your Level?
Seattle's Best Iced Lattes were made to be an every morning experience; something you grab and take with you on the run to help you start your day. We know not everyone wakes up fully dressed, coffee-in-hand, ready to take on the world, so we brought the coffee to them with the challenge to "discover your inner morning person."
The Big Red Fridge popped up on street corners and sidewalks all around Southern California, delivering a refreshing reward to those brave enough to open the door and awaken their own inner morning person.
